Dear parents and students, Welcome to a new school year! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing summer break. Though it has been challenging for a lot of us in a variety of ways, thanks to all your commitment and support, we were still able to celebrate and enjoy our successes and have fun together last year. This year, Kindergarten through Grade 5 have opportunities to learn about the families of instruments, sing to a diverse variety of musical repertoire, read notes and rhythm, and play various instruments. Furthermore, I am excited to announce that we are going to have Tuesday Noon Hour Music for intermediate students and Fun Friday Music Performance for all the Peacock students and staff so that everyone can share their passion for music with our community. There will be a sign-up sheet posted on our Music Department board every week. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Lee via e-mail at any time. Music is a subject that integrates science, mathematics, foreign languages, physical education, and art. Most of all, Music teaches us about life and enriches our life with its beauty. As your Music teacher, I would like to assure you that I am committed to prioritizing the health and safety of your children and bringing opportunities for our students to grow as life-long learners. I look forward to working with your children and having fun making music with them. Sincerely, Nicole Lee nicole.lee@sd35.bc.ca Music Teacher Dorothy Peacock Elementary

Peacock's Got Talent 2021 (PGT)
Our virtual talent show is back! Share you passion and gifts with our DPE community! You may submit a video of your act via email and we will showcase that at the end of May. The talent show video deadline is Friday, May 14, 2021. For more information, please feel free to contact Ms. Lee anytime by email at nicole.lee@sd35.bc.ca. Welcome to DPE Music!Dear DPE Families,
Welcome to a new year at Dorothy Peacock Elementary! I hope that you all enjoyed your summer break and are excited and ready to start the 2020-2021 school year as I am. As we begin our new year, I would like to communicate with you what music classes will look like for the time being. With your children’s health and safety in mind, I came to a decision that Band will NOT go forward for the first term. This may change after the holidays, but because the virus is spread by aerosol droplets, we’ve decided to refrain from using those instruments until we see how things go from now until Christmas. Instead, Band will become Music Appreciation for the time being. As I teach all the intermediate classes, my first and foremost interest is the safety and health of all members of our school community. Thus, I will be wearing a mask during all my classes and students will wash their hands before they come to their Music classes as well as when they return to class. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at nicole.lee@sd35.bc.ca. I truly appreciate all your continued support and encouragement for our community. Sincerely, Nicole Lee Music Teacher Dorothy Peacock Elementary Hello DPE!
