“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” ― Plato
Hello DPE Families!
It was so great to be re-connected with many of you through e-mail and TEAMS last week! Quite a few of you showed your interest in participating in our upcoming activities/events such as Peacock's Got Talent 2020, Recorder Karate and Band Tutorial. This week, we will still continue with the Activities of the Week along with the activities mentioned above. Furthermore, I would like to extend the learning opportunities for the Grade 5 students by adding the Introduction to Band program. This is a space where they can explore and learn about different band instruments to help them get ready for Band next year. I strongly recommend our 5th graders check this space out some time. You never know, you might find your true passion! I am more than happy to be able to offer you various learning opportunities at this time and I look forward to working with you all this week. Ms. Lee

Hello DPE families,
Another exciting week is ahead of us! I hope you and your family are doing well. I have a few news to share with you this week: 1. Peacock's Got Talent 2020 (PGT 2020-for EVERYONE) We are pleased to announce that we are going to run our very first Virtual Talent Show for our students to bring our community together. Please share your gifts and passion with us! For more detailed information, please refer to the "News & Events" section. 2. Band Tutorial Session (Grade 6 & 7) I am planning to run some Band tutorial sessions starting this week for those who are interested. I will share more info with you via TEAMS and/or email. Please be patient with me as I am trying this for the first time. 3. Recorder Karate Program (Grade 4) I am going to post some recorder activities for you starting this week (from where we were left off before the break). This is NOT a must, but if you wish to continue to learn how to play the recorder, you are more than welcome to continue to participate in the Recorder Karate Program. 4. A Little Night Music Challenge (EVERYONE) We are going to continue with our A Little Night Music Challenge this week to show appreciation for our essential service workers. Keep making noise at 7 pm! I also would love to see a picture or video of you doing this! So Please send it along if you can to [email protected]. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to making music with all of you once again! Ms. Lee Hello DPE families! Did you notice that many people are using music to share time with each other, make each other laugh, and let others know that people are holding them in their thoughts. With this in mind: A Little Night Music Challenge You may have heard about the idea of making noise at 7:00pm to show appreciation for our essential service workers. I know many of you have been doing this-now let’s add more noise! Every evening at 7:00pm you are challenged to step outside and make some music: sing a song, play an instrument, bang a rhythm on a pot or pan – ANYTHING! When you finish your song, shout “thank you!” to all the people who are working to keep us all safe, healthy and fed during this time. I would love to see a picture or video of you doing this! Send it along if you can to [email protected]. I will try to post my family doing this, too. Have fun and have a wonderful week! Ms. Lee Hello DPE families!
I hope everyone had a chance to spend some quality time with your loved ones over the long weekend. This week, we are officially beginning our classes/instructions; however, we are going to take things slow. My #1 priority is to care for your holistic (mental, emotional and physical) health and wellness. Thus, I will try my best to continue to connect with you and offer you the opportunity to enjoy music that can bring you a sense of refreshment, inspiration, and even some healing. Once again, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of Music Education with you! Important Reminder*: No Tutorial Sessions this week! Dear DPE Families,
I hope you and your family are doing well and being able to enjoy this beautiful weather a bit. As I e-mailed all of you last week, I am still in the process of putting a learning plan in place for you. Although I have already posted a few activities on this website, you DO NOT need to start your weekly activities till next week; however, you are more than welcome to explore this site as much as you would like. Lastly, the Easter Long Weekend is just around the corner and I hope this Easter holiday fills your home with love, joy, peace, beautiful music, and plenty of colourful Easter eggs! IMPORTANT NOTICE* Your tutorial schedule is SUBJECT TO CHANGE and there will be NO TUTORIAL sessions next week. Dear DPE Families, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this tumultuous time, as you are facing many new and unprecedented challenges every day. This week, your children’s classroom teachers are in the process of connecting with your family and I would like to join them in assuring you that we are working together to put a learning plan in place for your children as a team. We are here to support you and trying our best to meet your various needs during this challenging time. While I will not be able to connect with each of you (by talking over the phone as your classroom teachers do), please do not hesitate to reach out to me in the coming weeks with questions, concerns, or simply to connect. Although we cannot physically be together to make music, this would be a great opportunity for your children to explore and enjoy some great music that can bring them peace, joy and hope. That being said, I would like to share a piece of music that inspired me this week and I hope you enjoy it, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eXT60rbBVk&t=3s. I will be contacting you with more information via e-mail in the near future. In the meantime, I wish your family well, and I am looking forward to re-connecting with you soon. Sincerely, Ms. Lee Welcome DPE Families,
On this site, you will find all the information you need for your music class. I will regularly update and post your weekly activities, resources, and assignments so please bookmark this page for easy access. Thank you all very much for your patience and continued support at DPE. I look forward to re-connect with all soon. Ms. Lee |
