“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” ― Plato
Hello DPE families,
I hope you were able to enjoy the sunshine over the weekend and show your appreciation to your loving mothers & grandmothers in your life. I continue to receive some positive feedback from the students and parents about our activities including PGT 2020 and Recorder Karate (Thank you to those who have already submitted their recording!) I hope to hear from more of you this week! Here are the announcements for this week: 1. Peacock's Got Talent 2020 (PGT 2020) I would like to remind you that the deadline for this event is Friday May 22 (NEXT Friday)! If you think you will need more time to prepare for your act (extended deadline), please contact me in advance. 2. Recorder Karate Belt & CHALLENGE program badge (Grade 4) I took great pleasure in watching the video recordings of some of you last week! I also would like to remind you that you DO receive your belt via e-mail as you complete the song(s) for each level. If you would like to challenge yourself a bit more (AND play more than one song a week), you can always practise the songs that are posted under the CHALLENGE section. Upon the completion of each CHALLENGE song, you will receive an extra badge from me. 3. Band Tutorial/Sectional Rehearsal (Grade 6 & 7) It was so great to "see" some of you online last week! This week, we will continue with our Tutorial/Sectional rehearsal using TEAMS. If you don't have access to TEAMS or do not feel comfortable joining us online, you can always record your playing and e-mail it to me for feedback. I would be more than happy to do that for you! Attention Grade 7! Our Tutorial this week is on Tuesday at 2 pm instead of Friday! 4. A Little Night Music Challenge We are going to continue with our A Little Night Music Challenge this week to show appreciation for our essential service workers. Keep making noise at 7 pm! I also would love to see a picture or video of you doing this! So Please send it along if you can to [email protected]. 5. Pro-D Day This Friday (May 15) is Pro-D Day for all the district staff. Have a wonderful week everyone! Ms. Lee
